Shireen’s Journey Out & About Part 2

About a month ago I was at at the Knew Knowledge event 1st Birthday where I saw rapper No Lay. As one of the hardest MC’s out there I decided to give her some clothes I thought she would rock well, including the Grime Scene T-shirt and matching yellow and black snapback to go with it. She loved the clothes and was seen wearing both the items for the Link-Up TV Behind Barz video which then was picked to go on The Source Magazine’s top 5 video’s of the week, generating thousands of views. I then bumped into the lovely Emeli Sande in the evening strolling around Shoreditch, who still recognised me from when I interviewed her last August and gave her an Avit ‘I Love Me’ top. She was nice enough to stop for a quick chat and a picture.

I’ve also spotted some pictures around the internet of Clement Marfo wearing the red and black snapback. One of the pictures was taken at BBC Radio 1 with Cher Lloyd and Nihal.

The other was was taken during a guest presenting spot for MTV Base with himself and and lead singer of Clement Marfo + The Frontline, Kojo.

No Lay’s latest video up on You Tube was her freestyle for Link Up TV’s Behind Bars where she is wearing Avit’s Grime Scene T-shirt and Snap Back. The Source magazine put it in their top 5 video’s and the views we’re up in the 20,000′s in it’s first week! Rightly so, in fact we think it probably deserved more, watch it yourself and hear for yourself…

Avit was first introduced to No Lay at Bashy’s Blackboys video shoot in 2008 where we were wowed by her talents. She in our opinion the most underrated female MC’s in the UK, perhaps because she has never wanted to be labeled as a female MC, but as an MC in an equal playing field as any male MC in the scene.

In this Behind Bars video No Lay really goes in, showing us the realness she can deliver, spitting her heart out! And the singing just as strong! The thing with No Lay is she is consistent and you will always hear something new from her. I’m sure this girl writes lyrics in her sleep effortlessly.

Loving this latest 2 part video by Flirta D, particularly the 2nd half ‘I Say That.’ Flirta D who brought us ‘never disrespect you,’ ‘warp speed,’ & ‘hype hype’ is back! Shireen’s Journeys Out and About

Avit Clothing’s Shireen was busy last week attending various different events and interviews.

Firstly on monday I attended an event hosted by 360 Records called Dubstep1 TV, which was a showcase of dubstep artists with performances from Harry Shotta, Turbulenze and Fleur. Harry Shotta and Turbulenze were also filming scenes of a music video for a track called Outta Control. See the behind the scenes footage filmed by GrimeScene.Tv

On Wednesday I went to interview Benny Banks at the Social in London. I have been a fan of him for a few years now after being introduced to his music, so I was quite excited to interview him. I brought Benny a choice of a few Avit clothes as a gift from us, and he picked the white Adaggio t-shirt with black print. Whilst I was there I also bumped into BBC 1Xtra presenter and DJ Gemma Cairney.

Lastly on thursday I went to YoYo’s at Nottinghill Arts Club to watch my new favourite act Clement Marfo + The Frontline. I only became aware of these guys when I went to interview them backstage at their MTV Brand New for 2012 gig a few months ago. I was late, but now I’ve discovered them and spoken to them in person, I am a massive fan and you seriously can’t beat their live shows. I gave Clement a red snapback, which he also wore to a gig on friday at Loughborough Uni. Mikill Pane was the headlining act on thursday with his witty rapping skills. Here at Avit we have been fans for a little while, giving him a Copyright t-shirt.
